You are in my first Masters Cube I’ve built in 2013 and have been in that Cube since day one. I’ve always liked you. I remember that you were played in Kithkin decks in Lorwyn Block Constructed, you even won a Grand Prix. To me you seemed like the perfect finisher for a tokens deck. The perfect game winning rare to give my drafters a direction. But ultimately you are so much more than that, you are a cheat code.

I’ve been organising Cube Invitational tournaments for over 10 years now. For the last couple of years, once a year, I organise a Cube Invitational Weekend for 20 people. These weekends are crazy for me. I’m the main organiser, I coordinate and arrange everything. Of the 13 different Cubes played last year, 10 were mine. I tried to film 5 drafts to make gameplay videos out of them (working on one right now). When someone has a question, they come to me. It’s a lot. Sometimes too much. Luckily people don’t always come up to me just when they have a question. Sometimes they come up to me with a story. I always have time for a good story.

My friend Tristan came up to me. He wanted to tell a story, a story about you. How perfect you were in his deck, with multiple copies of Rhox Veteran. How whenever he drew you, he won so hard, it felt unfair. Even when he didn’t have your partner in crime, Rhox Veteran. Because sometimes your opponent just happens to have a Pelakka Wurm and your army of pesky 1/1 tokens suddenly aren’t so pesky anymore. And that is what Tristan came to tell me, with the biggest smile on his face. I just saw he fell in love with you right then and there, just like I did all those years ago, time and time again.
